The aim of time attack is to complete a lap in the fastest time.
Qualifying will consist of one lap with a start and finish point through a predetermined number of turns. The fastest 10 to 15 cars of the day will go through to the final.
The final consists of three laps of the circuit layout.
The competitor will complete 3 laps in the Final:
1) The warm up lap, to get the car up to temperature and to get speed up for the hot lap. This lap is not times
2) The hot lap is the timed lap. Having crossed the line carrying speed from the warm up lap, the clock runs and the pressure is on until the finish line!
3) The cool down lap - this is the final lap, to bring the operating temperatures of the car down.
This is a 'one lap wonder' format, so if you get it wrong or your car fails, there is no second chance.
A transponder will be placed in the car as when entering the queuing lane. This will trip our computer as the car crosses the start line to start the clock. The clock will stop as when crossing the finish line. The transponder will then be removed from your car.
The time attack is fiercely competitive and is a true demonstration of a well tuned track and driver.
